How the Holistic Progress Card works

Our report card looks at every kind of growth. Here is what parents will see on the Holistic Progress Card and how it is put together.

A teacher reading with a student in a classroom

In line with the National Education Policy and the new evaluation policy, every pupil at Shri R.G. Bajaria English Medium Primary School receives a 360° report of their achievement, called the Holistic Progress Card (HPC).

What is assessed

The year has two unit tests and two semesters. Alongside written work, orals and practicals are assessed as they happen (formative assessment), and written examinations come at the end of each unit (summative assessment). Class tests and revision worksheets give regular practice.

Three levels for every competency

Instead of a single score, each competency on the card shows the level the child has reached, with a short descriptive note on progress. This helps parents see where a child is confident and where they need support.

Four people take part

  1. The teacher, who sees the child every day in class.
  2. A friend, a classmate who shares in group work.
  3. A parent, who sees how the child learns at home.
  4. The child, who reflects on their own learning.

How parents can use it

Read the descriptive notes together with your child. Celebrate what has grown and pick one small area to practise at home. If anything is unclear, the class teacher is happy to explain.

Common questions

Will my child still write exams?

Yes. There are two unit tests and two semesters each year, along with class tests and revision worksheets for practice.

Why does a parent fill in part of the card?

Parents see how a child learns at home. Their view, along with the teacher’s, a classmate’s and the child’s own, gives a fuller picture of progress.
